Meet Googles New AI-Powered Job Search Engine

Meet Googles New AI-Powered Job Search Engine Google over the past few years has been focused on turning itself into an artificial intelligence company. They have been implementing AI into their platforms in order to improve search results, better translate languages and offer a better overall experience.  For a long time they have stayed out of recruiting, leaving the market for the likes of Indeed, Glassdoor  and LinkedIn,  but now have officially entered the recruitment market with Google for Jobs. Its not a new platform, nor is it a new app. It’s the same Google we love and trust but with much more efficient search parameters for jobs.  Just enter the position youre looking for on Google, and the location, and  voilà you get a whole bunch of suitable jobs without the fuss of signing up to job sites or receiving unrelated jobs sent to your email. Cooperation or Competition? You might be thinking that the likes of LinkedIn and Glassdoor already do the same thing. In terms of helping of helping you find a job, then yes they essentially do. Although Google intends to use it’s high-end machine learning system to sort and categorise suitable jobs from a wide plethora of job sites, big or small, including the ones I just listed. Google will be partnering with already existing companies, such as LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Monster. One company that wont be partnering with Google is Indeed. Google is looking to use its platform to become the AI-based middle-man for these job sites, aimed at making your job hunt as less of a hassle as possible by accumulating thousands of job positions from across the internet. Once you find a job, Google will direct you to the job site that is advertising the role, so that you can start your application process. If the same job is listed on different sites, Google will direct you to the most complete and detailed post. Erin Wilson, Co-Founder of hirepool, says that: Googles recent commitment to empowering job seekers will shift the entire industrys focus to delivering results. For the recruitment industry and job boards alike, helping people identify more jobs is no longer enough. Google is not only making your job hunt easier, but it is forcing recruiters to be far more specific and detailed in their job posting. Allowing you to have a much clearer understanding of the specificities of the role you are interested in. Below is an example of how it works, told by Google in this tweet: The job search can be tricky. Starting today, people in the U.S. can easily find their next job, right in Search ? https://t.co/TvGIh9VoXd pic.twitter.com/2yKEqfINar Google (@Google) June 20, 2017 Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, said at their Annual I/O Developer Conference in California, 46% of U.S employers say they face talent shortages and have issues filling open job positions. We want to better connect employers and job seekers through a new initiative. Pichai continues by saying that Google have focused on including jobs that have been hard to find, such as those in retail or hospitality. Whether youre in community college looking for a barista job, a teacher relocating across the country, or somebody looking for work in construction, the product should work, Pichai said. What does this mean for recruiters? With so little information, and it being released only a few weeks ago, it’s hard to say what type of effect it will have. Experts in the industry have come out with varied perspectives on the nature of Google for Jobs, and what the implications are for recruiting and beyond. Hung Lee, the co-founder and CEO of Workshape.io says: “Google for Jobs will do for Indeed what Indeed has done for the traditional online job board industry. It is the original content aggregator, so some might say it’s only fitting that it should on that role again for the jobs sector. Paradoxically, this could be good news for online job boards, especially niche sites; the key will be how Google de-duplicates job postings it will probably go with the original site, rather an aggregated profile, which, if true, will simply mean a massive diversion of web traffic from Indeed.com to original job board or career site Furthermore, using the basis of Googles search system, as a recruiter it should not matter what job site you use to advertise your job. The sophistication, specificity and intelligence of Google’s search engine should mean that it will show results of listings that are well-written, seriously detailed and relevant, no matter how big or small your company is.  It’s the same as any type of content you put online. As long as it is well-written and consistent, it will show up organically on Google. That’s the beauty of Google’s search engine. Adam Glassman, the Global Recruitment Strategies Manager at Alorica, has a different perspective and alludes to the disruptive nature of Google for Jobs, and how they intend to monetize it. He says: “Google is eyeballing talent acquisition big-time, and will be a disruptor in the industry. Google Jobs is their first salvo in this effort and I expect it to change where job seekers search. I expect to see a significant shift in traffic away from Indeed, CareerBuilder and others towards the native Google Jobs search experience. What is still unknown is how Google will monetize it (company ads, paid job listings, etc.). If Im Indeed, Im scrambling right now to counter this coming punch. But, when you control the search engine, you have the luxury of stacking the deck in your favor. All in all, Google are doing what they do best, which is help you ‘search’. Making your search for whatever you need far more successful and efficient. Personally whenever I looked for a new job, I always started with Google. In fact, whenever I look for anything I always start with Google. So it’s an idea that makes sense, and one that many would have already seen coming. For now Google for Jobs has been only been released in the United States, with far more countries to follow after that.  We’d love to hear what you think about Google for Jobs, and where you think Google should focus their expertise next! Just comment below.

Life after graduation

Life after graduation Its graduation week time to celebrate, let your hair down (after the formal photo) and  enjoy your final few days in CV4. If youve got a graduate job lined up congratulations! And if you havent.dont panic. You have a long career journey ahead and its a marathon, not a sprint, so dont hurry into those starting blocks. Keep some perspective Some people hit the bulls eye after one application, others take 200.  We all compare and compete, but try to focus energy on your own job search it will prove far more productive. Dont get caught up in any  misconceived notion of fairness: there will always be someone  more talented, more experienced or better connected. Its worth remembering however, that as a graduate from one of the UKs most prestigious universities, with an excellent track record in graduate employment, youve already been dealt a pretty good hand. Make small changes We recently held our first ever Finalists Get Hired! event and hosted an employer panel to bust some job market myths.  One of the most positive themes to emerge from the day was the impact of small changes in attitude and approach.  A small change can make a big difference. If youre keen to move into a particular field, but lack both contacts and experience, start a blog. Find your voice and offer something unique. Blogging can generate a great return for a modest investment of time. Its a good  way to build your profile, demonstrate your enthusiasm and start making (potentially) influential contacts. Ask someone in your chosen industry or a careers professional to give your CV the once-over and tell you where the gaps are. It might take very little to turn your CV from no thanks to job ready. Dont dwell on past mistakes and rejections learn from them. Im not sure attitude entirely trumps ability, but it goes a long, long way. Stop saying no; start saying yes Im not suggesting you throw caution to the wind and agree to scale Kilimanjaro (unless you really, really want to), but try to approach life with a renewed vigour. Youve just graduated from Warwick, so ride the wave  of positive momentum and say yes a bit more. Im not one for career theorising, but I am comfortable bedfellows with planned happenstance and the role of chance. By saying yes, you may open yourself to new encounters which could have unforeseen and far-reaching effects (to the good!) on your job search. Dont be a gloom merchant When I blogged this time last year, the graduate job market was still a little ropey. If the class off 2013 was feeling circumspect about their prospects, there was some justification.  Very few economists were prepared to stake their reputation on an economic recovery, but fast forward a year and its a different story. Ive highlighted just a few of recent good news items on the  AGR (Association of Graduate Recruiters) site: Employers expect an 18% increase in graduate hires Graduate job vacancies up 10% with 23 000 jobs on offer The  totaljobs Barometer calculates  an 11% year on year increase in graduate and trainee vacancies Now, Im the first to urge caution and context when it comes to stats and the AGR represents just a slice not the totality of the graduate job market, but its still indicative of an upturn in graduate prospects. Add to that the  range  of opportunities within smaller businesses (SMEs) and theres every reason to feel optimistic. Here comes the practical bit I have been working in this profession long enough to know that quite a few of you (actually, more than a few) like being told what to do and how to do it! So, Ive decided to oblige with short list of practical, tangible things you can do. Starting now. Read  the email from Student Careers Skills informing you how to convert your student account into a graduate one. We know you get frustrated with our frequent emails   regular communications, but this is one you dont want to miss. Did I mention there are still hundreds  of graduate opportunities on myAdvantage.? Use social media as a professional tool, not just a recreational one. Yes, its fun to waste time on Twitter, but its more than just a lunchtime distraction. Theres a really rich mine of sector and market information out there, and its a great way to unearth potential opportunities. I came across a great post, Jobs in the Twittersphere,  from Edinburgh student and guest HuffPo blogger, Francesca Mitchell, which I think just about nails it! Set yourself some realistic and manageable goals. Much will depend on your state of career readiness; are you looking to enter the  job market now, or  do you need to get more experience before launching  yourself fully into a graduate job search? Be  proactive. Now is not the time to retreat to your bedroom, post a few CVs to online job boards and hope the offers will come flooding in. Your time is better spent investing in quality relationships and quality applications,  both of which are far more likely to bear fruit. Plug in to any relevant Warwick networks (see point above about quality relationships) and join professional groups and associations in your chosen sector. This has been something of hybrid post  but Im hoping it might diffuse that  post-graduation anxiety and encourage some positive thinking. Remember, graduation marks the end of one journey and the start of another. Embrace it.

Is Your Business Making These Common Security Mistakes

Is Your Business Making These Common Security Mistakes Small businesses are often a target for criminals. Whilst burglaries still happen, the bulk of crime is now digital. Most business owners understand the need to use digital security software and use strong passwords, but there are other security measures that are also important. Here are just a few common security mistakes that you should look out for when keeping your business safe. Not changing passwords As important as it is to have strong passwords, it’s also important that you change them up from time to time â€" especially if you share these passwords with employees. Many password breaches are the result of passwords being leaked by bitter ex-employees. If you make sure that you change passwords after an employee has left you can be certain that they won’t share this private information with the wrong people. On top of this, changing your password simply stops hackers from gaining your password through repeated guesswork. A strong password doesn’t have to be complex. Password experts have since re-evaluated the idea that a password needs to be a random jumble of letters and numbers â€" these passwords are more forgettable. Instead try shoving two completely random words together (e.g. MarigoldNarwhal) or using a random date and a word (1938Tambourine) â€" this is likely to be more memorable and still difficult to guess. You can also throw hackers off the scent by using false security questions (for the name of your first school, use something completely random that can’t be acquired through phishing). Not backing up data Backing up data can also be good security practice. If a hacker does manage to get into your files, they may try to hold them hostage with ransomware (this involves threatening to delete your files until a ransom is paid). Having some files backed up on an external hard drive or on the cloud could make these threats futile. If you choose to use the cloud, it’s best using a specialist business cloud server with extra security (you can also use disaster recovery software that immediately blocks access to these cloud files when hacker gets into your computer). If you choose to put files on an external storage device, make sure that this isn’t left plugged into a computer and that it’s stored in a secure place such as a safe. Not updating software What use is digital security software if it’s out of date? New viruses and methods of cyberattack will have been developed that you won’t be protected against. Most security software automatically updates, but some programmes may require manual updates (it’s also worth noting that those that are automatic tend to update when shut down if you constantly leave a computer in standby, it may never have a chance to update). On top of making sure that your security software is updated, make sure that other software is also updated when necessary as some of these updates could also make these individual programs more secure. Not using screening tools In some trades, it could be worth screening clients to check they are who they say they are. This could include checking photographs or documents. The easiest way to verify customer documents is with specialist screening software. Such software uses the latest technology including facial recognition to check a person’s identity against online records. Not only could screening be useful against customers, but it could also be useful when hiring employees. Not training employees in security protocol Having security protocol in place is useless if your employees haven’t been trained in how to implement it. Many cyberattacks are the result of employees making silly mistakes such as clicking on links in suspicious emails or giving someone private details over the phone in the belief that they are someone else. Whilst you yourself may know not to fall victim to these security slip-ups, your employees may not be as savvy. For this reason, it’s worth running through these security risks as obvious as they may seem to you with every new recruit. There are day workshops in digital security that you can take your staff on to educate them (you may also learn a few things yourself). It may also be possible to create a handbook on security so that people know what to do in the event of a breach or a suspicious email/call.

What Type of Personal Brand Do You Want to Develop - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

What Type of Personal Brand Do You Want to Develop - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Your personal branding strategy depends solely on your long-term goals. You have to brand yourself for the career you want, not the job you have. This means that how you brand yourself online is completely dependent on your chosen career path: employee, entrepreneur, and consultant. Each of these types of workers has to maintain their online brand presence regardless of career phase and age. The difference between each path is what information you reveal, which domain(s) you select, how you build your product, develop your community, and market yourself. As I consult with more and more professionals and executives, the same question keeps coming up: what type of brand do you want to develop? I always need to figure out what their long-term goal is in order to craft a brand strategy and marketing communications plan. Here are some simple, yet effective, guidelines for developing a long-term online branding strategy. 3 types of working professionals 1. Employee brand If youre an employee, or youre a job seeker who wants to work for a company long-term, then your goal is to build your employee brand. This requires 75% of your efforts building your brand in the workplace, forging strong relationships across your company, gaining visibility with executive decision makers, and taking on big revenue generating projects. 25% of your time should be focused on crafting an online presence aligned with your job title, function, and day-to-day operations. Before you start a blog, a website, or develop your social media profiles, you must get consent with management. This means that they are aware with your intentions, and see your presence as a benefit to your current job, rather than a threat. The employee brand has to be updated and maintained as titles change, and experience develops. 2. Entrepreneur brand An entrepreneur is one who seeks to build a company bigger than themselves. You might have a full-time job, but youve come to grips that youre an entrepreneur and you cant work for anyone. The way you brand yourself online needs to reflect the company you want to start. If your current job responsibilities have nothing to do with what youre passionate about and want to start a business in, then avoid them when crafting your online brand. For instance, if you want to start a restaurant franchise, you should become food or franchise expert first, then create a brand presence around your ideas and expertise. Eventually, if youre good enough, you will already have demand for your future restaurant. Entrepreneurs need two websites. One for their company and one for their personal brand. Both of the sites should have consistent branding, link to each other, and support each other. Remember that the media and customers want to hear your story, not just buy your products. 3. Consultant brand A consultant is an individual who provides a service to one or more clients. I typically recommend that consultants establish their own identity on the web, under their full name (i.e. fullname.com, twitter.com/fullname, etc). This way, they are 100% building their personal brand, which is their company. Its much easier to build one brand name instead of two. The best way to brand yourself as a consultant is to master a skill thats in-demand and scarce. This way, youll always be in business, and you have the option to become more entrepreneurial, establish partnerships, and turn your name into a bigger business if you want to scale it. 3 considerations regardless of career path There will always be a few things to keep in mind as you progress in your career from now on. The world is obviously different than it was five years ago and you have to be smarter and faster with how you manage your career. Here are three points you should consider when building your brand, regardless if youre an employee, consultant, or entrepreneur. 1. Multiple streams of revenue Relying on a single form of revenue these days is foolish. Thats like investing in only one stock. If you lose your job or the stock plummets, then you become financially unstable and desperate. There are so many ways to generate revenue right now that you can make use of, such as blog advertising, eBooks, presentations, webinars, part-time consulting work, and more. By diversifying your revenue portfolio, youll be more confident, richer, be able to make better career decisions, and protect yourself. 2. Networking for career protection The number one reason why you should be active and involved online is for professional networking. By networking before you look for a job or start a company, you will have resources at your disposal who can help you when you require it. By avoiding online networking now, you are at risk of a longer job search, and youre limited your career opportunities. 3. Get famous for more career options By becoming a celebrity in your field, you arent just attracting attention. Youre also opening up the doors to future career possibilities. If people know who you are and what you do, then its easy for them to think of you when a certain opportunity arises. I call this brand equity, but for you its a way to attract jobs and career opportunities, without cold calling and begging for them. Its a huge time-saver! Start Your Nail Technician Career with Online Training CareerMetis.com

Start Your Nail Technician Career with Online Training According tostatista.com, there were over 54,000 nail salons operating in the U.S. in 2018 with the bulk of nail technicians being employed in California. These salons offer their customers services which range from basic manicures to the creation of complex and artfully designed acrylic nails. This points to a rosy future for those of you who have an interest in starting a career as a certified nail technician, especially with the growth of reputableonline nail tech programs. Overall, this is the perfect career choice for those of you looking for a career that interests you, as well as those searching for the perfect part-time, weekend position to put a little extra cash in your pocket.Nail Technician Employment Opportunities and Job OutlookevalBefore we get started looking into the educational aspect of becoming a nail tech, it might be prudent to look into the job outlook, and fortunately for you, it’s quite a bright one as are mostbeauty trades. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a nail technician’s salary was around $11.70 per hour as of May of 2018.However, this is the median pay.The salary you command will depend on several factors, such as location and your workplace environment. For instance, you’ll make much more in a high-end spa, located in Beverly Hills, than you would in a beauty salon in rural Kansas. In fact, did you know that Alaska pays its nail technicians more than any other state, with an average of $31,170 per year? Other top-paying areas include Houston, Texas, and New York. Future prospects for those seeking this career are very positive, with a projected growth of 13 percent from now until 2026.1) Salons, Spas and MoreevalNow that you’re familiar with your employment prospects, what about employment opportunities? At first, you might be thinking that your only choice is to rent a station at your local spa or salon, and while that might have been true years ago, today, not so much. Today, nail technicians can find employme nt at hotels, advanced care facilities, cruise lines, resorts and more.2) Mobile Nail TechniciansIn fact, if you’re business savvy, you can even operate your very own mobile nail technician unit. That’s right, just set yourself up with a reliable vehicle, equipment, and supplies, and you can travel to the homes or offices of your clientele. In fact, more and more people are enjoying the luxury of having a manicure, pedicure, or both, in the comfort of their own homes.3) Medical Nail TechnicianevalAnother option is the medical nail technician A good, online nail tech schools are careful to include courses that not only reflect nicely on them but help you to become employed. For instance, in order to become certified, you’ll be required to take certain courses that are designed to prepare you for the real-world position of working as a nail technician. These courses will include learning the anatomy of the nail, along with diseases associated with improper nail care. You’ll al so learn the importance of sanitation, equipment used, how to set up your work area, and in some cases, how to run your own business.Once you are familiar with the anatomy and sanitation procedures, you’ll then learn how to properly trim, file and paint nails, as well as perform facials, the art of hand and foot massage, and repairing damaged nails. You’ll also learn how about how to handle and apply artificial nails, both UV gel nails and acrylic. Due to the nature of the business, some online nail tech programs will require you to visit a secondary location near you, to perform manicures for real people.evalRequired Educational SuppliesDepending on the school, you’ll either have to purchase a standard textbook, e-book training manual, or both. This reading material will be used in conjunction with online videos, which you can watch over and over again, at your leisure. As for equipment, most schools will be able to offer you a kit which will take you through the course, and a moveable training hand on which to practice techniques. However, even if you cannot obtain a kit, simply take their list of supplies to your nearest beauty supply house, or favorite online beauty retailer, and purchase them there. And of course, you can even purchase these moveable training hands online!Certificate of CompletionOnce you complete your courses to the satisfaction of your online school, you’ll be issued a Certificate of Completion. This shows that you have met the requirements of the school, and have exhibited competence in your trade.Know that this is an important certificate, as it shows prospective employers that you’ve successfully finished a nail technician course, and may also be required by insurance companies in order for you to be insured. Remember, that when shopping for an online school, check to see if their Certificate of Completion will meet the requirements of your own State Board of Education with regards to becoming a licensed nail technician.Leng th and CostAs far as length goes, the time to complete an online nail technician course will differ from school to school. In general, you can expect the school to provide you with 200 to 800 hoursof coursework and training to ready you for their Certificate of Completion exam. As far as expenses, they will vary depending on the program. However, you can expect to pay from $3000 to $5000 for tuition, depending on what type of add-ons you choose. For instance, one of the top online nail tech schools is Taond Accrediting agencies will examine the school’s facilities, faculty, curriculum, and student services, among others. They do this by sending highly-trained inspectors to each school, usually every six years.Licensing ProceduresMost states require graduates to acquire a state license before they can perform actual manicures and pedicures for customers, and applying your online nail technician education towards state licensure can be tricky, as there is no one right answer. Each sta te will have its own requirements, so it’s vital to check with your state before even committing to an online program. For instance, in order to be licensed, some states may require you to take some courses in a live environment, where you’ll be complimenting your online studies with work on real people. The requirements for licensing will vary from state to state, Alabama, for instance, requires no school training, just 750 hours or 1200 hour apprenticeship within two years and an exam. California, on the other hand, requires 400 hours of educational training and an exam. To find out your area’s requirements please visit theNational Association of Complementary and Alternative MedicinesThe National Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology(NIC) is responsible for creating both the written exam and a practical exam. Currently, 33 states use the NIC’s nail tech written exam, and 14 use their practical. So, as you can see, while most states use the NIC with regards to ex ams and practicals, others have devised their own exams, so it’s important to contact your state’s Department of Education for more information. NIC’s licensing exam covers the following topics:Nail anatomy and physiologyBasic chemistrySafety and sanitation proceduresHuman anatomy and physiologyClient proceduresManicure and Pedicure procedures and equipmentHand and foot massage techniquesNail enhancementsArea setupManicure techniquesNail wrapsNail tipsSculptured nailsPolishingOnce you become familiar with what your particular state exam will require you can take advantage of the NIC site and others, and prepare for your exams while you are involved in your online training.Continuing Education RequirementsAnother consideration, are CEU’s, or Continuing Education Requirements. This means that certain states require that licensed nail technicians continue to take courses to keep their licenses. For example, Florida requires its nail technicians to take a minimum of 16 CEU’s. E ven if your state does not require CEU’s, it’s a good idea to take these classes on a voluntary basis. After all, when paired with a beautifully done nail art portfolio, they will definitely impress potential employers.Nail Technician Liability InsuranceOnce you pass your licensing exams it’s crucial that you obtain liability insurance before you touch any customers. Accidents can happen in salon and spa environments, so it’s necessary to ensure you are protected. Good insurance will cover all the major services that you, as a licensed nail technician professional will provide.Services include manicures, foot scrubs, false nails, nail art, and much more. After all, you’ve no idea what tomorrow may bring, so prepare yourself by obtaining the correct liability insurance before you start.Final ThoughtsThere you have it, a basic look into the world of online nail tech programs. As you can see, with a step-by-step approach you’ll quickly complete your training. When it comes to selecting your online school it’s simply a matter of common sense. First, take a look at how it compares with your state’s requirements.Second, look at the curriculum, to get a good idea of what you’ll learn, and if you’ll be required to take additional training at a secondary site. Third, look at the reviews past students have given this school.Know that your career options are many. You can work in a medical setting, on a cruise ship, or even operate your own mobile nail salon. Once you find and complete your program, you’ll be well on your way to finding either a full-time or part-time career that is flexible and enjoyable!

General recording tips - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog

General recording tips - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog Here are some general, non-technical tips for recording a chapter of the Practice of Peace audio book. I have absolutely no experience in this, so feel free to ignore it completely :o) First of all, before you start recording, read your section through once or twice, so you know what it says. This will probably make the flow of your reading much better. Consider if printing out the pages might work better than reading straight off the screen. Once youre ready to record, I suggest that you: 1: Find a quiet, undisturbed place. 2: Reserve plenty of time. 3: Do a small trial run first. Read one page or one paragraph, save it, listen to it and see how it works. After the trial ask yourself: * Is the sound quality good? * Is the volume too high or too low? * Am I talking too quickly or too slowly? * Am I understandable? 4: Take some breaks while recording (use the pause button) 5: Dont expect perfection. If you mispronounce something, just correct yourself and move on. Those little mistakes well make, just serve to show that were real people. 6: Enjoy yourself :o) Did I leave anything out? Thanks for visiting my blog. If you're new here, you should check out this list of my 10 most popular articles. Prep Cook Resume Writing

Prep Cook Resume WritingPrep cook, resume writing is an art form. Employers would not hire you if you are a poor writer. Whether you are new to the job market or a seasoned veteran, a good resume can really help land you a great job. Take some time to improve your skills and pick up some tips below. It is essential that you become familiar with the business of cooking and culinary arts. For this reason, I highly recommend a college education for anyone wanting to pursue a career in cooking. There are many great resources available, including culinary colleges, magazines, books, and conferences. The more you learn about cooking, the more your resume will reflect this information.Another thing to consider when writing a resume for a cook is your level of experience. Experience is important but it should never be the sole determinant. Many employers look at resumes for cooks who have either worked at a certain restaurant or have some sort of chef training. This will give them a sense of you being passionate about cooking and about serving others. Some cooking schools even give students a taste of working in kitchens.Remember that there are many different types of resumes. Each one will contain different sections that the employer will need to see. For example, the first section might list the specific qualifications you have for the position. The next section might include qualifications, certifications, education, awards, and other accolades you may have won in order to demonstrate your potential for a career in the field. The information in your resume will also need to emphasize your ability to communicate effectively. You need to communicate how you are willing to work with your clients, your knowledge of current trends and changes, and any special talents you have. Your resume needs to be well-written and conversational in nature. One of the most important things to remember when writing a resume is to be professional and to be honest. You do not want to present yourself as someone who cannot be trusted. Also, do not let your ego get in the way of having a job. Remember that your employer is someone you will be spending time with on a daily basis and needs to be able to trust you.Do not forget to include your hobbies and interests when you are preparing your resume for a cook. Also, make sure to incorporate any special talents you have, your career goals, and any awards you have received. When writing a resume for a cook, keep in mind that employers prefer resumes that are well-written and informative. Finally, prepare yourself by taking a crash course in the basics of cooking. You can do this through online sources like the Food Network or the Cooking Channel. In addition, you can get a personal mentor in the form of a certified culinary instructor to teach you the ropes of cooking.
